Lunch/Dinner

BBQ Tofu

I made this recipe weeks ago, I shared a photo of my result on Instagram  I had promised I’d share the recipe, and I just realized that I never did! Oi!  I’m so sorry I completely forgot to!  I honestly had only taken one photo anyways, with my phone none-the-less. I made it again last night for dinner and that’s when I remembered I forgot to share it on here. So, I was sure to take lots of photos, with my big girl camera, and write up a post today.  Again, I apologize for the late post!

This is another super easy recipe, and a favorite of mine.  I used to hate Tofu, but it’s become one of my most favorite foods. It’s so versatile, and I love that it takes on whatever flavor you add to it.  One night I was in the mood for something with BBQ and decided to experiment with the tofu. It came out so good, I didn’t need to make any additional adjustments!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!  And, share your side dishes you made with it in the comments! I’d love to hear your spin on it. 🙂

Press Tofu for 30 minutes. If you don’t know how to press tofu, see my how to post HERE

Season the tofu with some salt and pepper, then brush the agave syrup all over. You only want a smidgen, so a teaspoon should be enough for the entire piece.

Heat a frying pan with about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Then, sear the tofu on both sides until golden. About 2-3 minutes per side.

Heat the oven to 375F. Transfer the seared tofu to a greased baking dish. Cover the tofu with the BBQ sauce (I smothered it well! The tofu will absorb some of it!)

Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. I served mine with a side of mashed sweet potatoes! Enjoy!
