About

Hello! I’m Mallory and welcome to my vegan food blog!  I just recently celebrated 1 year of veganism.  Last year when I made that choice to better my life, it was the best decision I ever made.

When I was three years old, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that affects my joints.  For many years, I suffered in joint pain and disabilities that hindered my everyday life.  As the years passed, things got worse and I also started suffering from digestive and skin problems. I tried all kinds of medications, but to no avail.  I knew something had to change.

Being a huge animal lover, I decided to take a further look into veganism.  I started learning not only about the healthier food choices, but the awful ways animals are treated. It broke my heart, and also ignited something inside of me.  I took a big step in changing my lifestyle, not my diet.  I wanted to live a healthier, more compassionate life.  I stopped eating all animal products in February of 2016, and have never looked back.

I’ve always been a lover of cooking and baking.  I’m always experimenting new recipes to try and driving my fiance, Adam, nuts with new items each week.  Some work out great, and others not so much, haha.  I’m a photographer first as my business, and I started sharing photos of my new recipes on Facebook and Instagram just for fun.  Friends and family not only loved the photos, but started asking for the recipes. With an overwhelming response from people asking me to share my recipes, I decided to create a blog. Hence, The Compassionate Oven was born.

I urge you to enjoy these recipes, and enjoy life the best that you can. Be compassionate in everything in life. Love, and enjoy my friends.
